Last afternoon, I had the privilege of meeting C K Kumaravel, Co-Founder & CMD of Naturals Salon & Spa, at his office.
I went there to present him with a copy of my book, The Inner Game of Leadership. What stood out for me wasn’t just the chance to sit down with a brilliant business mind, but how easy and natural the conversation felt.
Here is someone who has built one of India’s most recognisable consumer brands. An icon for both budding and seasoned entrepreneurs. And yet, there was no sense of distance or hierarchy in the room. No pretence. No airs. Just warmth, curiosity, and genuine listening.
What I appreciated most was how approachable he was. The kind of energy that puts you at ease almost instantly. It felt like having a thoughtful conversation with someone who remains deeply grounded, despite the scale of what he has built.
It was a reminder that as organisations grow, leaders don’t have to become distant. Influence doesn’t require intimidation. And success doesn’t need to harden a person.
In many ways, true leadership is about how comfortable leaders make others feel in their presence.
Grateful to CKK for his time and for the opportunity.
